Amazon has just launched the release of their latest innovation, the Echo Show. It is basically exactly like the existing Amazon Echo, with one crucial difference: a 7-inch touch screen and a built-in camera. This means that your Amazon Echo Show will be able to pull up YouTube videos, make video calls and perform tasks like pulling up the weather report-just by telling Alexa.

And to receive Echo Show video calls, you don’t even have to have an Echo Show! Amazon is essentially turning the Echo family of products into one big Wi-Fi based calling network. If you own an Echo, Echo Dot, or have the Alexa app on your phone, you will be able to receive calls made from a friend’s Echo Show. In fact, you don’t even need to have an Echo Show to make calls!

Clearly, the future of communication is all about Wi-Fi, and Amazon is a clear leader in the race to the most advanced and consumer-accessible technologies on the market.

The Amazon Echo Show will be available in the United States on July 28th, 2017, for $229.
