Cancer is not a disease that anyone would wish to be diagnosed with, especially if one is of a young age like Bennett was. The Englewood family has come through a lot since a surgeon revealed that Bennett was a victim of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, an uncommon form of cancer in children. Gila Burgida, the mother of Bennett confesses that this was the most difficult experience of her life. Telling her 10 year old son that he had cancer and explain to his other two brothers what Bennett was suffering from.
Cancer requires a lot of attention if one is to go through a successful treatment. Bennett had a tight schedule for he had in his diary. Hospitalized five times and before he could be hospitalized he had to go through intensive chemotherapy. Several scans to locate the cancer and ensure it didn’t spread to other regions. All this operations where done after an operation was done to remove a mass from his intestine. It was a difficult moment for Bennett. All this required money for hospital bills had to be settled. It is expensive to treat cancer and only the positive minded and strong overcome the illness.
Aidan and Max thought that they could raise a few dollars to buy their little brother a gift to lift his spirit. To theirs surprise they got more than enough and thought beyond their brother. Aidan set up a fundraising site to raise money to research for a cure of children’s cancer. They used their parents account to facilitate this and spread the campaign through Facebook. The funds were directed to Tackle Kids Cancer an institution that helps children with cancer.
They raised a positive spirit in the community and people begun various events and activities that raised cash. The money was distributed to several institutions that help the sick. The best news to the Englewood family was that Bennett scans showed he was cancer free. Doctors will monitor him closely for though the right treatment cancer is cured.
